This lovely Bride and Groom honored three special grandparents by displaying three quilts that these women had created before they left this earth. It is obvious that beautiful quilting is a talent that the bride and groom will remember these special ladies by throughout their wedding years. Reception centers in Salt Lake City, like Ivy House Weddings, have many optional locations for the bride to set up beautiful memoriam such as this.

Unique Rose Table Linens Display Style and Elegance at this Salt Lake City Wedding Reception
Hanna created one of the most beautiful and simple cake displays I’ve seen at Ivy House Weddings, one of Western Garden’s wedding reception centers in Salt Lake City. She chose a simple bold two tiered square cake. The top tier included a touch of popular frosting beads and crowned with pink spring flowers. This tier rested upon the bottom layer encompassed with ruffles of frosting, all resting upon a simple white pedestal resting upon a table linen of white 3-dimensional roses with votive candles spotted about. The scene created the illusion of the cake floating on a pond of roses. A very elegant scene!
The style of this bride also included her own unique table centerpieces. Her florist Svetlana created beautiful floral pieces placed in a unique tall stand that also included hanging glass vases containing votive candles. Very striking with an elegant touch to accent the Ivy House black iron chairs and chandeliers. Each table because a masterpiece.
Refreshments were simple and again, beautifully displayed. A neighbor friend has her own catering business and catered the event. Delicious crepes filled with Bavarian cream or strawberries were core, but also chocolate covered strawberries, cream puffs, and fresh citrus ice water dotted the menu at this Salt Lake City wedding.
Hanna and Josh were the honored guests at their celebration of over 500 guests; however, all guests found plenty of room for joyful reunions, good food, and happy memories for the newlyweds.
Enjoy several photos I took during my visit to this wonderful Salt Lake wedding venue.

One of the Wedding Venues Salt Lake City Shares Some Great Reception Ideas for Any Bride to Consider
A unique and beautiful celebration of love took place at Ivy House Weddings, one of the newest wedding venues Salt Lake City has to offer. This couple and their families and guests enjoyed their Salt Lake City wedding celebration with beautiful flowers from Costco, delicious bundt cakes from an Aunt, and catered delicacies by another Aunt. This is one of the perks of booking with this Salt Lake City wedding reception venue called Ivy House Weddings. The bride and her pocketbook can decide where she wants to spend her budget.
There are three highlights I’d like to share that were particularly worth noting.
1. The party enjoyed a lot of dancing and this bride chose to hire an incredible DJ who really knew his music and knew how to get a crowd dancing. Craig Chambers Disc-Connection got the place rockin’ and everyone had fun either dancing or watching the dancers.
2. The second unique feature was the bride’s chosen refreshments for the evening. With a dear aunt and the help of several neighbor women, the guests were able to walk through a “pasta bar” that was so fresh and fun. The aunt in charge would place into the guest’s bowl items chosen from a number of choices, including different pastas, vegetables, chicken and even shrimp! Then the guest would continue to the cooking station of 5 fun loving women. Each had a small skillet and a burner in front of them. In addition, there were in front of them several pitchers containing two types of sauce – a creamy Alfredo (made from scratch) or a tomato based sauce (again, made from scratch). A cook would take the guest’s bowl and toss it in her pan and begin cooking it all. Taking only about 1 minute per guest, the delicious dish was then poured onto the guest’s plate. Then the happy customer could add salad, parmesan cheese, and breadsticks if they chose.
3. One other clever idea involved the photo book and guest signature book. Many times, guests simply get to glue their photos any which way in the couple’s book. This bride had thought ahead and had created placement strips for the photos. Guests didn’t have to decide where to place the photo and it gave the book more uniformity as the guests each had plenty of room to write their little best wishes to the newlyweds. This bride surely was thinking way ahead.
I will never forget the love in the eyes of the bride and groom as they danced their first dance. The bride obviously adores her husband and he likewise to her. Also, there were tender moments as the bride danced with her father. Many beautiful memories were caught on film by their photographer Kristen Mae.
Of all the wedding reception centers in Salt Lake City this couple could have chosen, Ivy House Weddings was the perfect wedding venue they could have picked. The mother of the bride wrote “We couldn’t of had a more perfect day! Everything was perfect. Thanks so much for the perfect wedding!”
March 24, 2012 – Beautiful Salt Lake City Wedding Celebration Planned From 1000 Miles Away
Salt Lake City wedding ceremonies are beautiful at Ivy House Weddings at Western Gardens Center downtown. This wedding ceremony and dinner were planned from 1000 miles away. Ivy House wedding venue includes so many options that this bride and her mother could easily plan the event, then fly in from back east a few days before the wedding and finalize all the last details with our preferred partners.
Ivy House creates a majestic yet warm ambiance without being in a cathedral. From the balcony, the photographer took beautiful photos looking down on the memorable scene below. This bride chose to have her ceremony promenading down a center isle toward the majestic fireplace. Ivy House wooden screens were places between the ceremony area and the dinner area. She also used a white carpet runner to emphasize her walk to her soon-to-be spouse. After few words from the officiator and exchange of wedding bands, the couple kissed as husband and wife. The twinkle in Maren’s eyes were witnessed by all as guests congratulated the newlyweds. The bride chose a 3-tiered blue cake with classic and lacy white frosting and pearls created by Ivy House preferred baker Carrie’s Cakes. A special wedding couple figurine adorned the cake. Another preferred partner created her wedding bouquet and flowers for the event. Hillside Floral is very friendly, professional, and reasonably priced.
Dinner followed with dear friends and family. Again, the mother of the bride had confidence in Ivy House preferred caterer Utah Celebrations. The food was artistically presented, tasted divine, and was served by their friendly workers.
RLT Photography was the Ivy House preferred partner that the wedding party chose to snap those lasting memories. RLT photos are indicated.
Giving a ranking of 5 out of 5, the bride’s mother, was so pleased that she wrote these comments about her experience with Ivy House:
Everyone here at Ivy House was so friendly and helpful. There is no way we could have planned a wedding from 1000 miles away if it had not been for Ivy House Event coordinator and her crew of preferred vendors. It was a beautiful day. Thank you so much! – SallyAnn
Ivy House is one of the only wedding reception centers in Salt Lake City that lets you make the choices in all your planning; but then again, if you choose, try our preferred partners. They are wonderful, especially if you are planning your event from out of state!

This beautiful bride chose to have a style of simple elegance. The bride and wedding planner accomplished this elegance with light pink wedding color and Ivy House simple yet modern tableware for their sit-down dinner honoring the new formed family.

Several children were in attendance and they found the occasion well adjusted for them which made it pleasant for the adults as well. With catering by a family friend, there was plenty of refreshing spring salad, rolls, and tarts. After the meal, Ivy House hosts and family cleared and reset the tables for the reception that followed.
The bride’s choice was a two-tiered ivory wedding cake embellished with one simple large pink fondant ribbon, pearls, and the initials of the newlyweds. A photo of the wedding couple complimented the masterpiece along with three votive candles and the ribbon donned cake knife and server. Again, a close family friend created this beautiful work of art at this wedding reception center in Salt Lake.
The reception was attended by hundreds of family and friends coming to congratulate the happy couple. Guests entered through the grand doors to sign in at a simple vintage sign-in table. While waiting in line they had a view of the wedding cake alcove and a slide show of the bride and groom on a large flat-screen TV. After greeting the bride and groom, guests were treated to slices of cake and a delicious candy bar telling the guests “Thank You!”

A Wedding Planning Meal: Part 1 – The Appetizer
So, you’ve chosen to have your wedding celebration at a wedding reception venue? Don’t want to hassle with the weather in your backyard, or the generic feel of a church gym? Now what do you do? It can seem overwhelming, but if you think of the planning process like eating a huge meal the Weight Watchers way, methodically eating one bite at a time. As you strategically chew each morsel and savor it, your delicious wedding planning meal will be very satisfying. Your special day will be here before you know it and you’ll be calm as a cucumber to enjoy every moment of the day.
The first task to do before you eat any meal is……set your napkin in your lap, of course. Your napkin is most important and you use it the entire meal. You pull it out whenever you need it. Well, in our little analogy, your napkin is a file of some sort. It is most important during this meal because you’ll need it quite often and it needs to be handy. Acquire some type of file system that works for you and is very easy to haul around (keep on your lap)! You will be writing down all your decisions and the details of your findings. Keep it all in one place. If a pad of paper and pencil are too old-school, pull out that iPad or other techno tool. Whatever it is, this will become your wedding bible! Don’t leave home without it! Now it’s time to eat!
The Appetizer – The first course of your wedding planning meal. There are three items that must basically be decided before you move on. Remember don’t take too big of bites or you might choke! Bite number one, which you and your beau may have already figured out, is to decide when your wedding event will take place?
Before you choose a wedding reception venue, I suggest having one or two dates in mind. It can be very disappointing when you think you’ve found your dream reception place only to be told that another bride has already booked it. If your date/dates are not available, save yourself frustration and move on to another wedding venue that will work.
Bite number two of the appetizer is discovering the location where you will celebrate. Now that you’ve eaten the date (ha-ha), venture out to the web or to the streets to find the place where your memories will be created! You’re armed with your planning file and 2 dates. If you are students, keep in mind that when school ends, people get married. Many Utah wedding reception venues book up quickly for that week after finals!
A very smart place to begin in your quest for a wedding location is the internet. You can enjoy this bite by being selective of what you search in your favorite search engine. If you simply type “wedding reception venues” you may end up with reception places in another state or even in another country. That would be a shock to the mother-in-law, wouldn’t it? So, make this a simple delicious morsel by being specific as to where you are willing to travel for your reception. You only need to add the city after your search. For example “wedding reception venues in Salt Lake City” works well. Or you can even leave out the “in” – wedding reception venues Salt Lake City. Doing this will save your surfing time and isolate your options to your benefit. You may wish to send an email requesting information from any venue that catches your eye as a possibility. A simple and good question to ask is about the availability of the venue for the dates you’ve chosen. This way you’ll know if the company is attentive, thus possibly indicating they will be attentive to you as a bride should you choose them.
The third bite of the appetizer is deciding generally what you want to do at your wedding reception. Want dancing? Want a full-course dinner? Finger foods? Do you want a cake? These are the things that only you and your beau can decide; its your special day.
You’ve eaten your date, your location possibilities, and the activities you wish to include. Now it’s time for you to go out and find that dream reception center in Salt Lake or wherever you live. You’ll find the one that meets your needs.
Next you’ll be devouring the second course of your wedding planning meal. Stay tuned!
